You are correct. E*Trade was the first to really start this on-line investing thing. Its just that first to market does not always guarantee success. Their management did not execute properly. Did you see the news item today about the Iomega CFO going over to E*Trade? A CFO change is never good news. From reading the news release,their current CFO, Steve Richards, is getting a demotion to some "executive vice president" position. For appearances sake, they will probably keep him around for a couple of months. However, the analysts respected Mr. Richards, from what I have heard.. I don't know if the Iomega guy will inspire the same kind of confidence. CFO change-yet another reason to either stay out of the stock, or sell short.
