Lisa: I think you will find that the various sources will also have different volumes and advances and declines. That would still give you different numbers.

The WSJ numbers are posted at 7 PM. That gives them some time to decide on the final figures. I will check three places to see if there are differences posted.

Lisa: I checked WSJ Interactive, DBC, and Yahoo U. S. Market Digest.

All three posted the same volumes. However, the WSJ posted 870 advances and 2235 declines. The other two services posted 821 advances and 2227 declines. This accounts for the differences between the WSJ number and those of Yahoo and DBC.

I cannot account for the differences in statistics.
