Frank, you say
>>I suspect that price will continue to be the driver for international.<<
International companies and callers stand to gain the most from VoIP since the cost of international calls is considerably higher. Initially I see VoIP traffic going gateway to gateway in the telcos. The scenarion I see is you have a mixed network of traditional and VoIP gateways. The VoIP gateways would theoretically be capable of handling a much denser traffic of digital voice over IP carriers than over traditional voice lines. The VoIP data would be encapsulated into packets. This gives the VoIP gateways a potential cost advantage over traditional gateways. The voice/digital converters are a key piece.
