A report by BancAmerica Robertson Stephens concurs. The financial-services company estimates that 1 million bills will be presented via the Internet this year, growing in the year 2000 to 500 million invoices--about 3% of all consumer bills for that year.

At the price of postage that is 150 Million in Revenues for Bill Presentors 2 years out.

At 40 Million E-Bills a month....the goal is to get the bill count to 8 per household...that would be roughly 5 Million Households Receiving & Paying Bills on Line.

They probably won't get it to 8 Bills a month...so I would say that there is an expectation in that report that more than 5 Million Households will be 'plugged in by the end of 2000'.
