Hi Denise - again, good thread to setup. Tks. Do you have a dollar ceiling ? - eg I follow a cheap (PE 11+ ROE 25%) stock GORAN (TSE-GNC; NASDAQ-GNCNF). Can$ 12-mo hi is $55, lo $25, current $38. It provided short-term disappointment re earnings recently - but represents wonderful equity growth if you believe ROE % is THE criterion. Don.

Denise, A good little company for those interested in small-caps is Q-Media Services (TSE:QMS). The company is a software manufacturer, mostly CD-ROM duplication. They just reported another stellar quarter (3rd Q fiscal 1998). The company has a strong balance sheet and is in growth mode. The negative is that the company is relatively unknown and the stock is illiquid. That is beginning to change albeit slowly. The stock is for patient investors with a long-term outlook. Q-Media could earn $0.28 per share this year and the stock is only about $2.35. Acumen has a research report on the company with a one year target of $5.00. This stock is not for traders.

I ll throw a small cap in also.. Mond Ind TSE-MII ARO 0.65 The P/Sr is very attractive, they have just(sept97) consolidated their business into one large building from 5 small ones, they are now settling in and their lastQ was profitable. Large new order for $10M just received, stellar customer list. There is a thread in SI, I have a fairly large position (for a micro cap) and will add to it if their next Q is decent. They build and service truck trailers.. Scott PS: I live near them, drive by and they are running at least 2 shifts

To Denise Taylor I have one you should look in to,it's called Phoenix Gold.I have a few thousand shares of it myself. They have just set up a processing plant on there site in Phoenix and they are processing their stockpile now.They are waiting for the results to come back now from the essay co.The prediction is about 22 ounces of silver per ton,they have a stock pile of 10,000 tons. A news release will be out in a couple weeks.I know all this for I just received a message from there pr persons today.We do have a thread out here for people who are interested.When the new hits the wire I can see this stock selling for .50 to .75 , it is now bid .15 ask .18.Check it out and let me know what you think.
