Howdy all, new to this thread. Been hanging with this one for a LONG time. Been mostly hanging around Joe Copia's thread. Anyhow, Does anyone have a clue when FASC plans to start the gypsum processing? I am in the construction industry in Dallas & just got a letter from one of our larger drywall subcontractors and they are very concerned with the supply of gypsum drywall. With housing starts at all time highs and the commercial construction industry going crazy in most parts of the country and picking up where it has been dormant in other areas, the supply of drywall (gypsum) is about to dry up and prices are rocketing. If (that seems to be a popular word with small struggling companies) they could get it together, FASC, could probably demand their own price for the product and with the rail line connection, get it shipped straight to a US Gypsum plant for fabrication into drywall. (Assuming the monopoly of Union Pacific can get a high enough mark up to rail the stuff out....We had breakfast with Texas Railroad Commisioner the other day and it takes a big markup on an item before Union Pacific will rail it...that's another story regarding coal & cement around these parts)
