Russia "is like Indonesia with nuclear weapons," per a money manager quoted on CNBC. Therefore, the thinking is that the IMF will give Russia whatever they want.

Doesn't Russia have tons of diamonds in a vault in Moscow? It seems as though I saw a show on that once. They only sell a trickle at a time, cooperating with DeBeers to keep prices high.

I think the IMF should tell them to sell their diamonds.
