It looks like the dire predictions for SFAM today will not come true. I suppose that $18 book value is creating a floor.

Updating my SFAM vs. AMAT CMP revenue table,
using the latest SFAM announcement, and Carl Johnson's
report on what an analyst said about AMAT's latest bookings
I get the following. Judge for yourself, but I think the last
quarter looks like a total disaster, nor do I see anything
consistent with mgmt.'s claim of a 20%+ market share in 1998:

SFAM 8/96 SFAM 11/96 SFAM 2/97 SFAM 5/97 SFAM 8/97 SFAM 11/97 SFAM 2/98 SFAM 5/98
$16.3M $16.8 M $22.5 M $25.2 M $30.7 M $34.7 M $28 M $ 7.4 M
AMAT 1/98 AMAT 4/98 AMAT 4/98 bookings
$45-50 M $46 M $75 - 80 M
