ANY trader: Please explain to me what "buy it (stock) and short it against the book, and sell puts..." means.

You buy the stock but don't understand "short it against the book"

Thanks.

Jen

To All,

Can anyone recommend a good thread for learning and discussion strategies on options.
(not hype)

mostly interested in playing calls and puts, not much into being the bookie (selling options).

thankx in advance,

Sean Sanders

Have not used the news angle much. I am a TA trader. It is a bonus when news comes out in addition to strong TA. I do feel in the current market environment strong TA is only good for a base and news is needed to get the ball rolling so I will be paying closer attention to the news over the coming weeks.

I did play MAXX on its news a few weeks back and it worked well but TA and FA wise it was a very risky play. Not recommended and I will never do it again. Ya right. LOL
