Chris, a couple of points -- because I don't call what you do "analysis" doesn't constitute incivility. If you hope to convince me of the corectness of your position you need to offer statistically verifiable proof -- not anecdotes and testimonials.

Second, you said "returns isn't everything.. i can make 50% returns, but if i had to risk my big chunk of capital, is that wise?"

That of course is a question you need to ask yourself. If you are risk-averse you need to be investing in stocks with suitable risk characteristics consistent with your level of risk-acceptance. There is no question that DELL is risky judging by its beta. Some people look for higher levels of risk and they achieve this by buying on margin.

If you understand MPT you can turn the calculus around and look for companies with a certain level of risk, and eliminate the ones that you believe will underperform. That's what I do.
