I don't know about MCI's preferred browser. I just called them and got an account number and password, and told them to forget about the software. I've used MSIE, NN, Opera, and a little weakling browser I'm writing myself.

Yes, you will be disconnected after what seems like 15-20 minutes, but if you run a streaming quote server, which I do, you'll stay on all day.

I use MCI, almost never a problem, connected at 50,666 bp, comes with Microsoft Explorer, but I switched without a problem to Netscape, which I had downloaded for free from Netscape web page. 19.95/mo unlimited service, and can stay on all day even if aren't at computer, as long as on a page that automatically refreshes like: cnnfn.com, for example.
