Are you focusing you attention so much on Ligands price changes that you do not notice that almost all stocks are going down fast?

Mudcat, it's an ugly nasty day in the market, second day in a row, all the biotechs are getting pounded just on general principles. If the NDA slipped by a few days it would mean absolutely nothing except LGND had been a little incautious in setting expectations, but there's no indication that the NDA will not be filed by the end of May as LGND has told us.

We know nothing about Targretin for diabetes either way ... in the event it doesn't move forward, and again, we don't know if this will happen, LGND has a substantial pipeline of promising compounds in the clinic and much more on the way ... we don't know what kind of intervening news will come out in the next 6-12 months that could affect the stock price. Plus, in diabetes, LGND has extremely promising RXR-specific compounds especially 268, as well as PPAR modulators on the way with much greater potency than Rezulin.

If there were some information leaking into the financial community (and this happens of course in biotech stocks from time to time ...), then we'd should be able to see that in the stock ... with more significant price swings and volumes than we've seen today.

Stay tight, and hope for good news on Ontak next Tuesday.

Peter

Only thing negative about LGND is the comments by some of the more ill informed posters on this thread!

<<Well Yea-sayers whats happening to the price of this stock?

1. Is NDA delayed again?
2. Does Targretin not work for diabetes (no milestone payments)?
3. Will Ontak not be approved?
There has to be something negative Lgnd related causing this slide. Lets not blame this slide on the markets because Lgnd is ussually not effected by what goes on in the overall market. >>

Mudcat, at least we got the answer to No.1 today. Hope that is enough to reverse todays direction. Time will soon tell us that answer.

Good Luck,
Greg
