Actually, Biota has a flu diagnostic while Gilead has a treatment for flu. It is possible that the two companies will have a complementary relationship, for example, in institutional care.

But -- since flu is short-lived, what is the likelihood that a diagnostic will be done, results evaluated, and then a prescription written? IMO, much more likely that diagnosis will be done from reported symptoms and then a prescription written. In many cases, the patient would not even see the doctor -- just tell doc how you feel over the phone, then pick up a prescription at the pharmacy (drive-up lane, of course).
