Just for curiosity how does Edify fit into this little trio. That company keeps popping up with internet banking and Checkfree ? Anybody care to tackle it ?

>>I wouldn't trust anyone that is willing to make such a bold statement without the facts to back it up<<

Well Benny it was just an informational conversation. Not the type of conversation where I felt compelled to question the veracity of the statements being made or to ask for third party references. The man seemed very knowledgeable on the subject and has been in the business for a long time. I wouldn't characterize anything he said as being bold.

The "fact" that CKFR is the leading provider of electronic bill paying services implies that there are other vendors offering similar services. I got the distinct impression from the conversation that NCR's electronic banking software (which is really an Edify product) interfaced with electronic bill payment services other than CKFR, Traveler's being the one mentioned by name.

I'll let you know when I find out more about it.

Travelers bill payment solutions

Benny, I emailed Greg Mills of NCR and asked him if I heard right the other day and this is his response:

"Yes you did hear right! Travelers is providing Bill Payment solutions via both Conversant (Voice Response) and our EBS product. The product name for Travelers is Moneyline Express."

The EBS he is referring to is the Edify product which NCR has modified for their own use. NCR is a licensed Edify VAR.

I like the Travelers product because it combines quite nicely with their WebSafe transaction insurance. This will add to the consumer confidence that is so important to giving web banking mass market appeal.
