I was just talking to my father and telling him that at that the market reversed a small amount at the pivotal point earlier today and after the program sell following this juncture the Dow appeared to be "backfilling" with apparent additional buying interest entering the picture. The TICK and TRIN were extended at this point indicating a rebound was possible. I was a telling him that I thought the program traders may take advantage of this and take the other side when the market started to rebound, which is would mean program buying. Sure enough, look at what happened. The the program buying and selling come in at critical junctures in the intraday market action, either continuing the market on its intraday trend, or facilitating a bounce. But I do not think even they can stop a freight train in its tracks. I do not think the program traders will take the other side of a trend in action. They appear to facilitate intraday market action at its junctures.

Comments anyone?
