bdog... re Floating this as a trial balloon in advance of board (and others?) approval seems somewhat uncharacteristic though.

I am pretty sure management would tell you that once they have made the decision to move forward on this kind of project they are legally bound to make the information, incomplete as it may be, available to the public. If it is material and not exempt from the regulations, then it must be disclosed ASAP. -JLF

bdog, surfer mike is dumb as a post re: specifics of the Mighty Q's spin off and will await enlightenment from Gregg, Jim (Florid) Frost, and others that make the calculators smoke.
But SM thinks that it is simply outrageously great that Q management figured out that they had an image problem with the street and is willing to put things right. No, I don't think this is smoke and mirrors. The T-LU analogy referred to above strikes me as very appropriate. If only Gregg could figure out that the Q's margins on handsets were better than they appeared, how the hell are the tasseled loafers supposed to? Answer: not, so they don't. And the Q gets stuck in nowheresville. This is cool says I. But humbly hope that Gregg and Jim and Caxton and Harvey and that no-account Ramsey wherever he is agree! Kind regards, SM
