Jim P., I think you are right to a degree, but you tend to overstate the REALISTIC pitfalls for DELL. The potential problems you identify are certainly possible, but I think that you feel that they are much more likely than the rest of us. This too, is human nature. Your conservatism has lead to a much more skeptical assessment of DELL.

Personally, I don't think that DELL is as vulnerable (at present) as you paint it to be. The very fact that the competition is in such a poor state of execution of their own models (in the midst of trying to be both direct and indirect marketers), is what gives DELL the back-up to its own flawless execution of its own model.

I will not disagree that you have identified valid considerations, but I would say that they are merely possibilities, and not reality (nor will they be) all things remaining what they are.
