Cisco) will create modems that have both 56K and xDSL
capabilities - probably in 1999.

IMO Cable is behind xDSL in the race.

which I wish they would develope a cable modem too

i hope not. dsl will be the future, and work on current copper wires, a perfect forerunner
to the current 56 modem. cable modems will be quashed by the telcos.
