Kerry, I don't know anything about Tekelec, but Cambridge is one of my favorite cos., not one of my favorite stocks. BTW, the symbol is CATP. I first got into CATP on a spinoff from Safeguard Scientific. This is a good co. that provides warm bodies and consulting to folks who need help with their technology products. They have done very well over the past few years. The only thing I don't like about them is an 85 price earnings ratio. Actually, there are a couple of potential operating dangers. One is the fact that skilled technology geeks are very expensive. That is nice because Cambridge can charge outlandish fees. It is bad, because the employees can demand and receive a large portion of those fees. We are also looking at rates going up as Y2K approaches. There are several firms willing to perform similar services, including such tiny cos. as IBM and Computer Sciences, -g-, and name recognition alone makes them viable competitors. The larger CATP grows, the more often they will run into these giant firms.

All that being said, I am simply avoiding the stock. Too high to buy, to good a co. to short.

Ask Clint E. on this thread #Subject-6674 for his thoughts on CATP. He's pretty sharp, and has shorted it in the recent past.
