Michael R, I think that perhaps Mr. Cohen might have misled you a little when he said his company "doesn't often choose to work with OTC BB stocks". The available documentation here on SI and elsewhere on the net says a little different. My count is 5 to 4, with nothing found on NYSE or AMEX. What follows is a list of the companies I found, with the date of their IR announcement. Note that for the two companies that Mr. Cohen revealed to you, I could find no press release data regarding the use of Pinnacle Group. However, on 12/29/97 I did find an SI thread poster that mentioned Mr. Cohen's telephone number in his post (poster: Instock) on GTAX. And nothing at all on NRVH. National RV Holdings................NRVH........Nasdaq..N/A Gilman & Ciocia.....................GTAX........Nasdaq..N/A Fresh Start Venture Capital Corp....FSVC........Nasdaq..04/30/98 Telenetics..........................TLNT........OTC BB..05/12/98 Berger Holdings.....................BGRH........Nasdaq..04/22/98 Big Entertainment, Inc..............BIGE........Nasdaq..04/03/98 FiberCore...........................FBCE........OTC BB..03/20/98 Leah Industries, Inc................LEAH........OTC BB..05/18/98 Cashco..............................CSHK........OTC BB..05/26/98 This post is fact finding in nature, and does not mean that I favor or disfavor any of these stocks or Pinnacle Group. In fact, I have no holdings in any of these equities, and haven't heard of any of them prior to 05/26/98, except for Cashco, and I can't believe that there's anyone left at either Yahoo or SI that hasn't heard of Cashco. Somehow, a Cashco reference seems to be posted on virtually every thread at both sites, so one's curiousity is bound to be piqued. There are some oddities to be noted about The Pinnacle Group, though. 1) Virtually every press release is a carbon copy of an original, except the names/addresses are changed and the nature of the business is corrected. Other than that, virtually identical. I believe that another poster already noted the similarities in a prior post on this thread. 2) Given the nature of the business, isn't it a bit odd that an investor relations firm would choose NOT to put it's snail mail address (or e-mail for that matter) on it's press releases? Nothing wrong with that, just odd. (Just my opinion, of course.) 3) Given that most of these stocks are small caps (some could correctly be called penny stocks), it isn't likely that any of these would really qualify to have "visibility with the Wall Street investment community". In my opinion, the statement is misleading because most investors would take that statement to imply institutional investors, such as pension funds or mutual funds, might take an interest in the stock. Perhaps the author of the statement felt that s/he is allowed to take small liberties with semantics given that s/he might perceive the task of arousing investor interests to be somewhat difficult.
