Interesting but it isn't going to happen unless a lot of new capacity (wafer starts, not shrinks) comes on line for dram. If it does, dram will be running in the streets. Micron just canceled it's planned test and assembly expansion at lehi due to the 64Mbit transition. A given fab operating today will produce fewer 64Mbit units than it would 16Mbit unit even after allowing for less I/O overhead and a geometry shrink.
