Kirch is in trouble. Leo is saying that he will shut down Df1, and cut his losses. Part of the deal was that Bertelsmann would absorb some of the losses. Rumor has it that new partners may emerge. Telkom may still be considering the deal. Rupert Murdock may still want in Germany.

Kirch has $5B worth of commitment to Hollywood for film rights, and still has an order for 1M d-boxes with Nokia.

The good news is that all the involved companies still plan to use d-boxes, but the Digital TV rollout will be slower.....................
