Capt. Ron, By this time next year, consumers en masse will be bugging the **** out of dealers by insisting on compliance and checking the info on items they already own. Embedded chips is a topic which will be on everyone's lips. Will Christmas shopping 1998 see many tags stating 'Y2K Ready' on all those shiny Christmas gifts? If this thing were organized at all, there would be some sort of logo that a manufacturer could stick on their product to alert shoppers that it's O.K., like the 'green/eco friendly' one in Europe.
