Hercules Becomes First to Market With S3 Savage3D
Technology

SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 28 /PRNewswire/ -- After an overwhelming industry response to the
introduction of Savage3D(TM), S3(R) Incorporated (Nasdaq: SIII - news) today announced that
Hercules Computer Technology Incorporated is the first customer publicly demonstrating a Savage3D
board. Coming just three weeks after S3 launched the chip, the new Hercules Terminator BEAST(TM)
will be shown running the high-speed Savage3D accelerator at this week's Electronic Entertainment
Expo (E3) in Atlanta, GA.

About the Terminator BEAST

The Hercules Terminator BEAST integrates the 128-bit ultra-high- performance Savage3D graphics
and multimedia processor, a 250 MHz DAC running resolutions up to 1600x1200 at 90 Hz, 8MB of
the highest performing SGRAM equivalent up to 24MB through texture compression, and a resolution
independent video-out connector.

Hercules further enhances the capabilities of the Hercules Terminator BEAST with its unique value
adds, including Hercules' unique high-performance/wide-bandwidth(TM) hardware design for
high-quality and stability, Hercules' advanced PowerDrive(TM) drivers for outstanding 2D/3D
performance, easy plug-and-play AUTORUN installation from CD-ROM, Hercules Touch(TM)

The 8MB Hercules Terminator BEAST will be available in July 1998 at an estimated retail price of
