Participation in Clinical Trials

(May 27, 1998) Clinical research in the United States is possible only through the efforts of individuals who donate their time and energy toward the advancements in medical science. Patients are rewarded by knowing that their participation could help perfect new drugs, devices or medical procedures that could improve healthcare.

The clinical trial of our Computerized Thermal Imaging system is currently underway at two locations in the Los Angeles area and one location in Washington D.C.. Installation is underway at an additional East Coast location to be opened in the near future. If you live near one of these sites and would like to participate in the breast cancer clinical trials, the following minimum requirements must be met:

1. Been categorized as ACR 3,4, or 5 on a screening mammogram

2. Been recommended for biopsy.

3. Been referred to the study by their attending physician.

The following factors could prevent trial participation:

1. Patients with previous mastectomy or lumpectomy

2. Patients who have had radiation treatment

3. Patients who have breast implants or have had breast reductions

4. Patients over 300 pounds

5. Patients who are pregnant

There is no cost to the patients or their insurance companies for participation in the trial. About 20 minutes is required for each patient. This includes the initial enrollment, obtaining a patient history and the examination itself.

Please contact the participating hospitals ONLY if you meet the requirements listed.

CTI shareholders, interested investors, editors, writers or others posing as patients volunteers should not contact the clinical sites. The personnel at the sites are not allowed to discuss the trial or respond to questions. Such calls only disrupt patient flow and slow the trial..
