JB. Perhaps you should consider the context of the DOJ/MSFT litigation in a broader context and it will fit better into your liberty or death package.

Because the big picture is really pro competition.

What DOJ will be attempting to establish is a framework which re-establishes a level playing field for competition and innovation in mature and developing industries.

What is being evaluated in a broader scale is lock out strategies applied to start-ups or new entrants into industries where market leaders use ,until now, what were considered crude, but acceptable means to protect their markets.

This applies to airlines beverages, software, beer -you name it.

What is being challenged is the ways and tactics of market leaders and how they prevent competition.Industry consolidation limits choice.

That sounds almost liberty like to me.

>>>Your intellectual defense of business Darwinism excludes the consequences toward small business, privacy, individual rights, to name but a few concerns.

I do not think Libertarianism, as defended by you, is progress at all. Rather, it is a step back into the dimly lit cave of primitive capitalism.<<<

Having wintered for a few years in the Libertarian camp, I believe this is why there are no lasting truly free libertarian states, nor ever will be.

The extreme hands-off attitude toward things does end up resulting in strong-man rule, and the strong men end up deciding everything. The government ends up being irrelevant, as does your vote.

Of course I'm still waiting to see if there will be any true democracies in my lifetime. The country I'm in seems to be run by rich people, too.

What to do, what to do. Bring back dueling? The gold standard? Neitzche?
