Novell Japan to Provide Help Desk Services to SMEs
May 28, 1998 (TOKYO) -- Novell Japan Ltd. said it will launch by October an additional low-cost information service targeting small and medium companies (SMEs) that use its products.
Novell Japan offers a help desk service called Premium Service for system administrators of companies. The new service will be an additional low-cost service for small and midsize firms.

Companies can use the additional service via fax or email. They can obtain information on all Novell products, but can't receive the latest technical information provided by other Novell services. Charges will be kept low so that small and medium size companies can afford to use it frequently.

Novell has yet set the prices for the new service, but it is expected to charge 100,000 yen to 200,000 yen (US$725-US$1,450) for five inquiries. Premium Service pricing starts from 1 million yen for the economy service plan, comprising 20 inquiries a year.

Microsoft Co., Ltd.'s Spot Support help desk service charges 20,000 yen (US$145) for one inquiry on all products including Windows NT and BackOffice. Its "Priority A" charges 150,000 yen (US$1,080) a year for as many as 10 inquiries

Paul:

Active interest in NOVL this morning despite a lackluster directionless dow and nasdaq.

nasdaq off 5 points, 0.28%

novl up 1/8, 1.23%, on 305K volume

Hmmm, what does this mean? Hell if I know, but there does seem to be quiet interest still in NOVL.

Regards,

QuadK
