FYI - I happened to notice that the short position in IFMX is huge - 18.6 MM shares as of 5/15, and that's up a little from the 4/15 position of 18.2 MM shares. It's in the top 10 list of NASDAQ largest short positions. In good company - also in the top 10 are Dell, Sun, MSFT, CSCo and Boston Chicken.

I really don't think there's much lower to go - so as these shorts start to cover, we could see a nice benefit on the long side. Some really good news would give us a really nice run on a squeeze.

Byte's latest issue just came out and reviews the high end databases.
Oracle, IBM, MSFT, Sybase were reviewed. They said IFMX first agreed to participate but then later pulled out. Does anybody know why?
Also complained by the writer is that all participants prohibited Byte from publishing the performance test results. In the end however, Oracle was picked the winner.

As for the restatement by IFMX/E&Y, it seems like a going away present from E&Y after IFMX decided to give them the boot. There is always pressure inherent to the auditor to audit in the clients favor or bias. This is because the client is the one paying for the bill. However when you are given the boot, then you can lean the other way with nothing to lose (you already lost your client). E&Y now can always say that they got the boot because of differences in opinion and they wanted to take the high ground because of their "impeccable" reputation ..yadayadayada.
