E3Expo/I-FORCE is Everywhere at E3:TMSR NASCAR FORCE GT

Force Feedback Standard is Embraced by Major Manufacturers

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 28, 1998--I-FORCE, "...the force feedback technology standard from Immersion Corporation, is on display in many locations across Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3Expo) show floor this week.

I-FORCE is the technology that allows joysticks, steering wheels, and other gaming peripherals to provide realistic FEEL sensations as part of the gaming action.

The proliferation of I-FORCE across the gaming industry is quite visible at this year's E3Expo. Ten manufacturers are promoting gaming peripherals that use I-FORCE technology, including Logitech, ThrustMaster, CH Products, SC&T International, ACT Labs, Leda Media Products, ANKO, Primax, Interactive IO, and Happ Controls.

Immersion Corporation is also showing the next generation of force feedback controller -- a force feedback mouse known as the FEELit Mouse.

In addition, Mad Catz(TM), Inc. has announced they have recently licensed the I-FORCE standard and is currently incorporating the technology into their popular line of gaming products.

I-FORCE works by incorporating motors and sophisticated electronics into gaming peripherals such as joysticks, steering wheels, and flight yokes. Under the command of the software, the motors push back against the user, simulating the feel of surfaces, liquids, textures, explosions, and countless other sensations.

I-FORCE is enhanced by Immersion's patented force feedback co-processor architecture. This proprietary technology allows I-FORCE enabled products to simulated complex feel sensations without slowing the gaming action.
