....jwk...slotman...ALL....yes, I got an ulcer yesterday. Sorry! The world is time sensitive. ....To answer your question. ....1. The site is working well, and fast, and I believe the concept is excellent. Any company will benefit. ....2. There is, right now, one hell of a drawback. That is, not being able to search the database using "key words". I am told that this will be implemented within one week. Could some of you confirm this? SIC code searches are OK for some products, but not for most, as it is way too broad, or the product/service you are looking for is not specifically listed in any SIC code (it may be there, but it is not called out in the directory, so you have no idea which SIC code to look under). ....3. The trial membership includes only 15 hits, when looking for a product, using the SIC codes. This is not enough, and makes it impossible to verify that you are getting good info. ....4. When you view a potential vendor, you are given only the most essential information: name, tel, fax, no e-mail. Nothing is mentioned about the products/services this vendor supplies. This is not good. Go to thomasregister.com (it's free, just quickly register and go) and view their ability to use key words to access a source. Just enough info is given to include/exclude the potential source, as a possible vendor for the product you want. Example: you may be looking for surgical tape; however, when you pull up a potential vendor, he mentions "masking tape". You do not spin your wheels writing to him for surgical tape. This needs to be expanded. ....5. Suggestion...Glen, go to the Thomas Register web site and copy their approach to searching. They only do this for the U.S. They are not international. It is a great site.
