<<I have not seen a single stock anywhere not follow the
fundamentals of its company over an extended period of time.
Have you?>> Jimleon, I agree that companies do follow the fundamentals over short and long periods of time. I'll place my bets on fundamental, not technical analysis. However, I do find the charts interesting, and believe they are useful at times. My concern with Dell is that the pe is in the mid fifties, having come down from the high sixties. I believe that the pe is important and at the current levels represents a threat to the stocks performance. Has the pe always ( at least over the past few years) been this high?

By the way, I am long on Dell and own a Dell computer.

re: comes out with an earnings warning tomorrow, the stock will tumble. That tumble is based on a threat not on fundamentals. And I have not heard anyone say that TA is 100% foolproof AND is immune to investor sentiment. It makes certain assumptions and requires certain constants, even thought those constants change over time. I think the fallacy of those that do not believe in TA is they assume for it to be valid it has to be an undeniable law, like gravity or death. It, in my mind, only tries to quantify behavior and that behavior is different for different securities AND changes over time.
