RESEARCH ALERT - Goldman cuts Micron EPS

NEW YORK, May 28 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs said Thursday it lowered its fiscal 1998 earnings estimate on shares of Micron Technology Inc. to a loss of $0.95 per share from a loss of $0.55 per share.

-- lowered fiscal 1999 earnings estimate to profit of $0.85 per share from profit $1.50 per share.

Tanks for the post. I crunched the numbers and guess what, NEC is increasing DRAM production as measured in megabits ... you probably knew this already, sorry for the redundancy. Anyway, in May they will make 512 million megabits (think I got that right) and will increase this to 608 in Sept. and 704 in Dec. This is a 38% increase in 7 months ... due to the 64 Mbit ramp. Of course, everyone else in the industry is doing the same thing, even that laggard MU. What will this do to prices ... $1 for 16 mbit??
