Thanks Max! I like writing - can't you tell? Am very comfortable, working from home today. Well, sort of working...market looks good today, am nibbling on some software companies that have taken a beating. One is SAVLY - a real favorite of mine. It got crushed for absolutely no detectable reason and has made back 8 points in two days from its Tuesday intraday low. Bought a bit more on the dip yesterday but not a lot. I'm still really skittish. Phil

Max, Just a quick clarification of terminology in my DSL note. I mentioned that DSL is analog... it's a digital service of course (Digital Subscriber Line) but uses analog copper technology. I can't remember the exact technical reasons the technology won't work if the modems on both sides aren't both connected to the copper itself. But that's what I've read. I ain't no engineer! There's a great article in Tele.Com's April 15 special issue on telephony platforms. I had it until last night and accidently left it on the plane! Need to get it again. Backissues for tele.com are extremely well worth reading - it's the best magazine I know of for describing current and next 12-24 month trends. The backissues can be read for free on their website...unfortunately the special April 15 issue that has the DSL article isn't posted on the site yet. teledotcom.com Phil
