I have been going long. Into selected stocks, since last Friday. Of course I am always short selected stocks too, and I have RYURX in my back pocket- just in case. I bought CDG calls this morning- looks to me like xoi is near an intermediate bottom and CDG certainly is oversold.

Well, the dog will keep salivating even longer if every so often a treat is given to the condition. Human nature most easily demonstrated in your nearby vending machine that doesn't always work or local slot machine.

not many. when expectations are violated people (or dogs)
get confused and typically do nothing. James mentioned
in passing that when a market breaks dramatically nobody
really wins in the end. peoples response mechanisms
go haywire and have to be built up anew. of course
this happens just as much in business as in stocks.

someone mentioned how odd it is to feel calm, particularly
in a curious and confusing market such as this one. that
calm comes about as the mind begins to focus, and is a
typical reaction, and often a pleasurable one. a panic, wherein
people freeze as in the paragraph above, is when this focusing
effort, in a sense, goes too far. we blow a fuse.

our genius, compared to other animals, is the facility
with which we can change course and remap our expectations.
Nevertheless we occassionally fail, and then we're just
as much a deer in the headlights as any deer ever was.

obviously some people are quicker than others.

Can't make up my mind - just back from vacation..got to get my data all figured out..But playing the squeeze..5 oex calls & 5 oex puts
So that probably means that I have MADE the market stay flat..I guess I'll liquidate one position today so that it will be free to move.(in the other direction..LOL)

Somewhere I seem to recall being able to hit this thing twice in your contest. If so, I short the SPX once again at 1098.82.

That would put my average at 1097.675.....

Thanks.
