Even if the news release at the show is the same as the one earlier this morning, it will continue to hit a larger audience that will be interested.

when you say 100 million motherboards made by smsc, you're mistaken.
===
SMSC has a leading position in input/output (I/O) integrated circuits for PCs with over 100 million units shipped
===
those are pc i/o chips shipped. they probably control the parallel and serial ports, maybe the keyboard and mouse. granted we can probably assume that the "units" made it onto 100 million different motherboards, but smsc doesn't make motherboards. they make chips. in this case, i think that is far better for wavx's future than just an agreement with a motherboard maker. winbond is in the same market. i remember all my ancient pc's having winbond uarts.

ps: i just looked inside a brand new dell xps r400 which uses an intel motherboard and there is a big smsc FDC37B777 chip in there. maybe a floppy drive controller? there are other labels on it too and it looks like it connects up to all the pci/isa slots. there is a phoenix copyright on it. seems like the chip might be a multipurpose i/o chip.

Hi Georgia,

I agree with your thoughts about smsc and we still have the OPEN HOUSE tommorow Friday, May 29th to read about with it's informative and positive news. As I understand it, this presentation is essentially for the investment and trade community.

Best wishes,

SPARKLE
