Thank you Annamaria. I have read very little on the MAI. I believe it was to be headquartered in Europe and run by an 'appointed' panel of about a dozen or so businessmen. These appointed people would set guidelines that would be mandatory for all countries to abide by in order to trade freely. Many of these guidelines would usurp the democratic rights now taken for granted in many western countries (labor laws, environmental laws, etc). I have heard it described as a Bill of Rights for business. These are just my thoughts on what I recall on MAI. Anyway, you can read more here if interested.....................
