<but ups year 2000 EPS from profit of $0.02 to $0.12 and 2001 from $1.30 to $1.75 a share....>
What would you do if some retail broker called, from BA Robertson Stephens, and tried to sell you a stock @ $90ps on the basis that in in 2 years, it MIGHT make .02 to .12c ps??

Unfortunately that story from briefing.com is all I know about upgrade. And I as well
would like to learn how all these analysts arrived to their estimates.

Alexander,

I understand the lack of information. This felt like they picked numbers out of thin air.

alex, they pull them out of their ear. when they are dead wrong nobody holds them accountable. i'd bet there are no back up numbers. why? this is a mania. you don't need numbers. just buy, buy, buy! ;-)

at some point, though, buy, buy, buy turns into bye, bye, bye. the analysts don't seem to understand this. it is much safer to be wrong with everyone else then actually take a RISK.
