Incomplete and Dated "News Flash"

Gull, your posting:

"SouthernEra acknowledges farm heir's diamond mining rights"
Newspaper headline in Business Day Thursday May 28.

is another example of your bias and incomplete reporting of facts. The article refers to events which occurred last week as you are aware. I think we know what happened. No, SUF didn't lose a court case. They are requesting that the minister of DME make a ruling on section 24 in the "public's best interest". DME wishes that SUF and De Beers can work out a deal.

Given that you're Mr DD. Hows the foreign investment been in SA ? This situation must really make foreign investors excited and the dollars must be flowing in.

I'll leave you with a quote from a David McKay article (Business day April 28/98)

" There is, however, a minor irony in DeBeer's involvement. The loss of the mineral rights by a foreign-based investor, which had already spent money prospecting the rights, does nothing to instil confidence in SA among other potential offshore miners"

The pampered few no longer call all the shots in determining the prosperity of your country.
