Well, here are two guesses from me:

a) a major announcement is imminent

b) analysts have performed mid-quarter check with channel partners and discovered that business is gangbusters.

If either "a" or "b" is incorrect then look out below.

I was on to the phone with my broker yesterday who called the floor to find what was going on. He came back with the rumors of Bay talking with Nortel were circulating again, thus the rise.
