Tokyo, I'm not excited about ResNet. It doesn't seem to be doing well. It needs to be re-thought or dumped. IMHO I agree with your view of the basement with a troglodyte servicing VCR's. I am ignorant of the set-top box problem. I have heard that kind of grumbling from customers of both LNET and ONCO. Didn't know if it were endemic to the hospitality industry. MSFT keeps coming up with solutions. They say that the capability will be incorporated into their OS. It's always 18 months off. I assumed that this is a manifestation of the anticompetitive behavior that they blatantly engage in. One would like to think that that the DOJ case will draw attention to this activity. It is hard to imagine that anyone will invest in innovation when the 600 lb. gorilla floats vaporware and promises it for free. Munger yesterday gave a ringing denouncement of the DOJ's persecution of billg - hey what's a little monopoly among friends?
