Thank you for your thoughtful response, I agree that it would be a last resort with the state of the technology. I hope the technical and political climates change by the time we need it.

Won't that emotion of "this is it" still be with you if you know the you "up to that moment" will not be perpetuated-- that same feeling that you won't be around to see what the next 300 years holds? Might you want to do the procedure again? Will the new android AV be able to rectify the existence of an AV that may only have a day or two of difference in life experience? I can see each android feeling sympathy for the now deceased human AV, but will each android AV love the other? How might things differ if, instead, your life was perpetuated by sons and daughters? They'd feel a deep loss for their father and a strong bond for each other. Something to think about. - Jeff
