*AV*--if its any consolation, TSM will be one of the first to come out of this disaster. They are one the most most successful and respected foundries in the Pacific Rim. They have some big name clients and have not been afraid to spread the cpaital dollars around to ensure they can meet the manufacturing requirements of its customers.

Trouble is they did all this and the business never came in the technologies and volumes they had counted on. While not trading at its 52 week low, it is looking very attractive for when it does come out of this downturn. I do not see this happening in the short term but rather towards the end of this year or beginning of next year.

TSM is on watch but not on radar. For that matter, very few IC manufacturers are on active radar these days. Off the top of my head, IDTI and one or two others are the only ones I am actively keeping daily tabs on.
