Thank you , as I think of the universe all points are relative,
I don't believe we could establish a fixed point, except that
it be relative to some other or several other points, but even
so not fixed in the absolute sense. It's like it is alive, changing
ever changing and while its total substance can remain the same
amount of matter and energy yet one form may increase or decrease
at the others expense and it may change or displace space in way
that actually makes every thing in it move, including it's own
center.. so if the center of the universe will not stay put
even if we could pin point it then there can be no fixed point in
space.
<G> All points in space are relative to what every we
want to anchor them to.
Yet some how I sense at the heart of it
all we might, if we had the means, find the moving center and
place a self adjusting station that would move with the center.
It would need to be able to detect and measure all gravity
and electron magnetic activity in a way that would break them
down into a common denominator which would say all forces of
any know kind are equal on every side of me. I am at the center
of all known forces and will continually adjust myself to stay here.
But how we could every create such a devise I'll leave to the
Science Fiction writers for the next 1000 years. <G>

Yes our entire solar system is in motion, and you'll have me
running to the books if you insist on knowing how fast or which way..but it's a lot and my guess is that we are vary far from where this solar system was born.
-----------------------
To contemplate time in an imaginative way forget the clock , and
the tick tick of a flat time..thats just the abstract we
invented so that we could communicate, picture time instead of moving
as being steady and us moving through it. Like time don't move or
march on, it's us doing the moving and marching through time , and
no two points are at the same place in time. I'm sure there is a lot
we don't know about time and our minds are so trained to think of
a clock and that tends to cause us to see it as rather flat.

We are really using an arbitrary abstract we invented to have some concept of it that we can live with. Thanks to Einstein and those
who helped him along we can deal with time as relative to the
speed of light, or light to it..and we understand that the stars
we see are really pins of light that reflect history..so in fact
we can SEE across time..we actually see history as we look at the
heavens, and we know its all in motion, so; nothing out there is really were it appears to be..<G> WARNING YOU COULD HAVE NIGHT
MARES IF YOU TAKE TO MUCH OF WHAT I SAY TO SERIOUS...he he

Well any way here we are looking across time at the history of
the stars as their pin points of light arrive at our eye balls,
surly then time is not just relative to the speed of light,
it must also be relative to distance, but relative in all
directions ?? that is hard to deal with, I must be cooking up
a witches stew here...oh oh...I'm getting tangled up in time..
what does it do in respect to the movement of light..slow down
and at that speed stop..not hardly..perhaps it just becomes
another dimension.
The Past? what is the past but now, as all of now
contains all the past, and perhaps even part of the future,

Eternity is, I know as I have seen it and it never ends..
and it can't end it can only change..we can't wear it out and
it can only go to sleep, to awaken a split second later, but
yet refreshed, it has for ever to create any thing it wants,
any way it wants to.

Unless conscious life takes control of it
and limits what it can create it will in time create the past
over and over as it has forever. And if eternity goes uncontrolled
we become like a man pushing the wheel barrel up a hill, to only come
back again eons from now and push the same wheel barrel up the
same hill, and all the eons in between are lost to the individual
forin his deep sleep it takes but a second and he is starting his
journey all over again. That this was destined to happen can not be
denied, for we have a universe that can only change stuck
in a time with out end, so what ever the odds are against it does not matter because forever over comes any amount of odds.

Sooner or later as you might say; any thing that can happen will happen until some sort of conscious life evolves enough to limit what
Eternity might do and even if the conscious life becomes GOD,
and can limit Eternity , it could not destroy it..ahoh I just
became a heretic I'v discovered at least one thing not even
GOD could do.

Would the universe create a GOD in time ? well if a GOD can exist
and as the universe has all the time in Eternity to create one then it can not help but to do it, as forever cancels all odds
against it.
And if time is distance, and Eternity has already had forever then GOD must already exist somewhere I know
this is insane but I can't see any way out of it. <G>

Enough about time for now , which also contains all of the past
and perhaps part of the future.

Here are some more of my mad ravings.

In that post it's a little thing on meteorites, and the earth
moon orbit..I didn't mention how fast we are going as I didn't want
to look it up and I was not sure if my memory was serving me
right, I still don't want to look it up and I'm still not sure
if my memory is correct. But you can look it up if you want and
correct me if I'm very far wrong.

Picture Yourself going at a speed of about 36,000 miles per hour,
kind of fast wouldn't you say and on top or that your spinning
as you do it...you are riding in space on an apple and the thickness of the skin of that apple is all that is protecting you
from all kinds of very unpleasant effects that the universe would
be happy to heap on you, as you tear along at your 36,000 mile
per hr journey around a rather small sun, locked into an orbit
with another smaller planet whose gravity also has you doing
a 9,000 mile zig zag course every 28 days...yet for some
reason you don't have any sensation of motion while you are
sitting in you chair.
But the next time your on a mountain top
at night looking at the stars, pretend you feel that speed,
and about 3am in the morning look east and you will be looking
out the front window of your space ship..and in the direction
you are going, and know that if you over take or bump into a
very large rock that has been floating in space and happens to just
be in front of you about this time it could cause some
serious damage..
-------------

I will add I do not think all the rocks we pass by are or have
been part of our solar system, not in the way that we mostly
think of meteorites..and comets and such, that have some sort of orbital characteristics set up as having been with us for some time.

In as much as our whole solar system is in motion I believe
from time to time it over takes some dead and floating garbage
and we wind up with a few new visitors every so often , I did not
log three near misses I most certainly saw while at sea about
25 years ago, they were not recorded by anyone else and I did not
have the gumption to be held up to ridicule at the time. Just
mentioning them to some other Captains in the area
and trying to see if any one else could back up what I saw
brought on a lot of laughs and such, and while I had pointed
them out to two crew members, I was afraid we might be accused
of just making it up..these things were big and it was the
right time of the morning and I do not think they were headed
for us so much as they were beginning to fall towards the Sun
and we likely over took them.
They seemed to bounce off r upper atmosphere went out of sight but were caught in our
gravity well that acted like a rubber band, as they came back
and passed about the same path but were now sling spotted
out in front of us and very likely continued their fall to the
sun at an even faster speed..I can't say for sure
exactly what they were..but have rolled the picture around in
my mind trying to comprehend it for years. <G>
I guess that may be why I'm more sensitive to the need for
a radar type space station to fly along ahead of us, I'm
sure there have been many close calls that are not on record
and even many more that no one saw. Just let the rock be big
enough and us hit it, or it hit us just were its early in the
mourning and space ship earth could have some serious problems.

That stuff that hit Jupitor
Was big enough that had it hit earth I would
not be typing this or you reading it.

Forget the odds it's just a matter of time , and we may have used
up our odds there is no way to calculate them & playing with the
odds with what little real data we have is just
a form of denial that lets us put off doing what we need
to do, and we need to do because we have all the stuff now
that it would take to detect and at least divert the course
of any thing but super large garbage.

Hope I don't sound like I'm bragging but I know how to change
or alter the orbit of the earth..and if I had the resources
I could adjust us slightly closer or away from the Sun..by
altering the orbit of the Moon. So if you think we need to
alter Earths orbit just drum up enough money to put me
on the moon with seveal mega tons of old warheads. <G>

It'l work because she is not our satilite..the Suns Gravity
well sees us as one unit not two, and the moons orbit can
adjust the center of our dual orbit. A slight adjustment there
can have the effect changing the density as far as garvity is concerned if we bring the moon closer it will increase the
density that the sun sees and if we maintain our velosity
we will move away from the sun , like hangin a heavyer nut
on the end of a rubber band your twirling around,
Move the moon out some and reduce the density and we will move
towards the Sun..BTW the moon is already moving very slowly away from us. So far it's just about right to adjust for the cooling of the
earths core. GOD seems to be looking out for us in spite of our
naughty ways, but I hate that we seem to push our luck so much.
