DELL becoming a slow puppy!!! Could become very interesting???

Especially with all the overconfidence in this stock!!! Can we keep going up at such a rapid pace???? What will travel up fast -- will come down twice fast! DON'T FORGET IT!!

Alan H. You continue to avoid my basic question.

What advantage does CPQ have over Dell going forward
in the WinTel Workstation/Server segments?

BTW, Dell is hardly scrambling to assemble a server
story. Their story in the low to mid range server
offerings is quite a good one. Now number 4
world-wide. Look at Dell's growth rate in this
segment vs. the competition.

Q496 Q197 Q297 Q397 Q497 Growth

Compaq 115,656 115,514 124,506 142,542 174,681 51%

IBM 52,568 44,020 55,482 59,881 80,248 53%

Hewlett 50,644 51,890 54,290 54,850 70,135 38%

Dell 18,637 21,047 28,423 36,055 42,414 128%

Expect a move into the #2 spot within 8 quarters. Also,
expect heavy penetration into the high end when Intel
ships 460GX/Merced.
