Carl: I listened to the PLAB conference call the other day. The Ultrabeam is in the process of being put into the production line. Ultrabeam does not necessarily compete with the ETEC system. PLAB views it as a complimentary tool. It has advantages over the ETEC tool for certain devices. PLAB's strategy is to compile a tool box of the various machines (they purchased another from a third vendor as announced during the cc) on the market to best serve their customers. At the time of the cc, PLAB had no production figures for the Ultrabeam and it seemed doubtful that they would release those figures anyway. They did make it a point to emphasize that cost was not the only factor in their purchases. They emphasized capability and reliability as well.
