I suppose the break below 9000 was just part of the market's consolidation? I think I know where this misunderstanding is coming from. IMO we are in a short term down market that broke away from a short term market top. The question that is up to be answered is that of determining if this will be part of an intermediate market top which there appears to be some evidence that this has been in the making. I look to the techs as part of this evidence. But I am not convinced of this yet until the market breaks below 8750 or the consolidation above this value lasts for several more months.

You see, I look at the market in terms of three basic time periods: short term, intermediate term and long term. Just saying if the market is "up" or "down" is rather meaningless to me.
