Sav,

Nice response and I share much of your sediment regarding the release.

When I turn back the clock to the time when it was released I get much the same feeling then as I do now. That is, back then we were waiting on the chips and all DSL stock prices were on the fall. I felt that Westell and the other usual suspects were trying to do everything they could to put their finger in the leaking dam. Thus, very misleading press releases like that.

So what has changed since then? Still no MOT/TXN chips in quantities. On the Orckit side, I get the feeling there are no quantities either. So should I believe the Sweden release anymore than the Westell release? Yes, I would be more inclined to but only because we are farther out on the time scale. I guess what I want to see is a release saying Fujitsu is now producing x-chips per day. or will be by some date .bla bla bla.

Look for interesting things to be happening in Europe regarding their communications infrastructure in the next 10 years. I have been told that there is a project going on in Italy to control the television/radio programming across all of Europe from a single control point. Selective advertising, the whole bit. HP has been assisting with the projects coordination/logistics on a network that requires a very high speed infrastructure.

That's it for now and keep up the good work, -Eric
