They were opening buys, this is what I was told, and you could tell by the fact that the implied volatility in those particular series was much higher than the rest of the series, causing a 'skew'. NEM has had a big increase as well, all buys. We will see what the outcome is of this situation. These big option players generally do not lose money. The trick is figuring out what excactly they are doing.
