When a product becomes a commodity owed by a monopoly (windows
to MS) it stifles innovation.

Blah, blah. Sez who? If you can't see the amazing innovations occurring before your eyes, you've got your head up your posterior.

So if we support property rights at all costs,
then there will be no new property to protect.

New "property" is being created at a rate unprecedented in human history.

So what do you want, one
company with all the "property"

If they've earned it in the free market, you bet!

or a free and open market where new
property owners are constantly created?

That's exactly what happens without governmental controls and regulation.

When pipsqueak jackboot wannabes like Robert "3rd" Reich yammer on about "forcing" and "regulating" the marvelous engines of prosperity that are driving our "miracle" economy, (Intel and Microsoft, to name a few), they are either displaying an abysmal lack of understanding or an unmitigated lust for power. You decide.
