"One of their major problems , along with corruption , phony accounting , political inertia , etc. is that they (JAPAN) built way too much UNNEEDED production capacity ," Another way?...what if they turned their efforts into building a more sustainable local society that would require even less imports of raw materials in the long run?...I think they have the ingenuity and proven research to do this...if they can break the Sham of corruption and face saving they seem to be locked into!
